At this year’s Skydd event, the importance of security technology will be reflected not only in the exhibition itself, but also in the panel discussions and presentations taking place on Teknikscenen (the Technology Stage). One of the keynote speakers set to share his perspective on technology trends is Jan Meiswinkel, CEO of the PSIM company Advancis.

The organiser of the Technology Stage, AR Media International, aims to celebrate entrepreneurship at the Nordic region’s largest security exhibition. To that end, both Axis co-founder Martin Gren and Genetec founder Pierre Racz will take to the stage on the opening day of Skydd to share their insights into emerging technology trends.

A leading European PSIM company

On 21 October, two more entrepreneurs will share their perspectives on the state of the market. It has now been confirmed that the first to take the stage will be Jan Meiswinkel.
Although Advancis was founded by Hartmut Nöll in 1994, it was when Jan Meiswinkel joined the company as co-owner and CEO in 2001 that the business evolved from a small enterprise into a mid-sized company with a global reach. Today, Advancis is one of Europe’s leading providers of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) solutions.
As an innovator and supplier of open integration platforms and API-driven applications, the company delivers solutions tailored to the unique policies, processes and operational requirements of each organisation.

A Centralised Platform for Integration

Today, Advancis’ software solutions form an integral part of modern buildings and critical infrastructure. The company is best known for its open integration platform, Winguard, which enables cross-domain integration of security, building automation, communications and IT systems.
As a Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) system, Winguard collects and correlates events from multiple subsystems within a centralised management platform, providing enhanced situational awareness and more effective incident response.

Centralised Identity Management

With Advanced Identity Manager (AIM), Advancis also offers a platform that consolidates existing access control and IT systems through centralised identity management.
As a Physical Identity and Access Management (PIAM) solution, AIM provides a unified framework for managing identities, access rights and compliance processes across both physical and logical security environments.

Lennart Alexandrie, Publisher at AR Media International and Programme Director of the Technology Stage at Skydd, believes that Jan Meiswinkel’s appearance comes at exactly the right time.

“The rapid growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) is fundamentally transforming the physical security industry. Cameras, access control systems, sensors, building management systems, energy platforms and other connected devices are now generating unprecedented volumes of data,” he says, adding:

“The challenge is no longer about collecting information, but about integrating, interpreting and acting on it in real time. That is why we are delighted that Jan Meiswinkel has agreed to take part in the programme.”

Integration: A Key Success Factor

At the Technology Stage at Skydd, Jan Meiswinkel will explore why integration has become a critical success factor in the age of IoT and AI, and how intelligent automation and unified security platforms can help organisations enhance situational awareness, improve operational efficiency and strengthen resilience in an increasingly connected world.
